Site Manager – External Works (Recladding & Remediation)

Location: Manchester (projects across North West)
Salary: £52,000 + mileage, bonus, pension, 20 days holiday

We are working exclusively with a well-established main contractor delivering commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects across the North West.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of external works packages, including recladding, façade remediation, and building envelope upgrades on live commercial schemes.

The external packages you will be managing will typically range from £2m – £5m in value and will sit alongside wider live refurbishment projects.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing all external works activities on live commercial refurbishment projects, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality delivery from start to finish.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing external works packages including façades, cladding and remediation
  • Coordinating specialist subcontractors and trades on site
  • Ensuring full compliance with building safety, fire regulations and relevant standards
  • Driving programme, quality and cost performance
  • Managing day-to-day site operations and logistics
  • Carrying out site inductions, inspections and toolbox talks
  • Maintaining accurate RAMS, permits and site documentation
  • Working closely with the wider project team to coordinate internal and external works
  • Liaising with clients, consultants and stakeholders where required

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering external works packages
  • Background in recladding, façade remediation or building envelope projects
  • Experience working within commercial refurbishment or main contractor environments
  • Strong understanding of site safety, sequencing and coordination of multiple trades
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certification
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage specialist subcontractors and maintain programme control
